Love, Power and Scandal at Ripley Castle A short coach journey from Harrogate is situated the delightful village of Ripley with the castle as its centrepiece where we will be greeted by Sir Thomas Ingleby, the owner (his schedule permitting). After some refreshments we will be given a guided tour of the magnificent house and delightful grounds before gathering in the Long Gallery to listen to a talk entitled “Love, Power and Scandal. A Royal Jewel for Every Occasion” which will be given by Susan Rumfitt, an internationally renowned jewellery expert based in Harrogate who is also a jewellery specialist on the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow. A light lunch, “afternoon tea style”, of sandwiches, cakes, tea & coffee will then be served. There will then be an opportunity to stroll in the gardens or visit the quaint village shops before returning to your hotel by mid-afternoon, thus ensuring plenty of time to relax before the evening’s dinner at the National Railway Museum.
