JoJo describes
Rudi as being
quite the character
who loves a good
day out. “He’s an only child and when you’re a parent to an only child you
have to entertain them more because they haven’t got a sibling to play with
and I don’t want to have him sat in front of the television all day!”
IS LEEDS A GOOD PLACE TO BRING UP CHILDREN?
I think Leeds is a brilliant place to bring up a child. I’m from Leeds, I love
Leeds, it’s my home city so I’ll never complain about her, as it were. I love
the variety of Leeds, as it isn’t just an urban jungle, there’s lots of green open
spaces too like Roundhay Park, and it’s free! You don’t need to spend a lot
of money to entertain a child. You can go blackberry picking, you can just
be outside, take the scooter or your bike. You could even visit the smaller
parks like Meanwood Park or Golden Acre Park, to feed the ducks. I’m
lucky, Rudi isn’t one of those naggy kids, you know, he’s quite happy to run
through the woods in a pair of wellies. He’s good like that. I do like Temple
Newsam farm, but my farm of choice has to be Meanwood Urban Farm,
which is a community run project and very cheap to visit.
