Every Sunday evening a beautiful converted Baptist
Church – now called Te Yoga Space – is home
to hula hoop ftness teacher, circus performer and
comic genius Pete White. Forget kettle-bells – the
hula hoop makes a welcome return as a lighter, more
cheerful way to tone up and is apparently great
exercise for abs, back and limbs. If ever an exercise
class was designed to make you stretch your laughing
muscles, this is it.

Te canal-side ofers a leafy, refreshing alternative to
road running and a great way to soak up some local
history. Te Leeds-Liverpool canal meets the city at
its heart, allowing visitors staying in central Leeds an
easy access to the waterside. Te canal path starting
at Granary Wharf is a popular route with joggers,
leading out of the city past the famous mill chimneys
of Holbeck, designed to look like the bell towers of
Florence. Tere are also spacious tree-lined parks
across Leeds to run around. Every weekend, Hyde
Park hosts the Saturday morning Park Run, a free,
mass exercise in which participants are encouraged
to go at their own pace – walk, jog or run. To join
in, register online and receive your own Park Run
barcode that will record your fnal time, so that you
can brag about it in the pub later.
